I got this drum off e-Bay a couple of weeks ago. It's a Radio King shell
that was customized for Ted Nugent's drummer Cliff Davis in 1978. It is
signed by Foley and Jamieson ("custom built by Paul Jamieson"). I can't
figure out who did what. It was definitely custom painted and has a Rogers
strainer. I can't imagine what "custom built" means. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Fred Mann
I realize this post is over 10 years old but I just acquired one of these custom snares. Mine is obviously a 6 ply Gretsch snare that has been modified with a Rogers strainer and butt plate. Edges also appear to have been re-cut to a much sharper edge. My drum says Custom Built for John Siomos by Paul Jamison. If the name doesn't ring a bell he was Peter Frampton's drummer in the 70's including the smash album Frampton Comes Alive. At the bottom of the badge/plate it has the years 12-76 and #003. Doing a google search on Paul Jamieson led me to this posting.that was customized for Ted Nugent's drummer Cliff Davis in 1978. It is
