Actually, it's Gradation Raspberry (a very cool color), and it looks like
Tama no longer offers this finish. That is, unless they gave it a new name.

HA, I had me a NoSheeples moment! It's a beautiful finish, my favorite. I
believe they call it Purple Fade now. I need a 16" tom, but refuse to pay
$500 for it new. You never see that finish on e-bay.

The kind of stuff a bad hotel drummer would keep around:

regular gigging kit:
74 Sonor Champion Rosewood 10, 14, 18

clubdate kit - Sonor Phonic Mahogany finish - sizes depend on the gig:
18, 20 or 22 BD, 8-14 MTs, 14, 15 &16 FTs

Practice kit:
Sonor Hilite black diamond with Designer mounts
18, 20 22 BDs, 8-13MTs, 14 &16 FTs

Sentimental favorite:
1965 Ludwig Super Classic in Silver Sparkle
12, 13, 14FT, 16FT, 14x22BD, + Supra w/early 70's Atlas hardware set

Because I like it:
Sonor Force 3000 in Scandinavian Birch finish

17 Assorted snares, probably 30 cymbals from ZIldjian, Sabian &
Bosphorus, UFIP & Tosco

Most important: Roc-N-Soc, Sonor, Tama, Pearl & Lombardi Canister
thrones. If your ass isn't comfortable, the best gear in the world
won't help you... ;-)

Drumsets:

Main: Starclassic Performer in Indigo Blue: "Be-Bop Kit"
8(purchased after original kit),10,12 Rack, 14 floor
22" (Main Kick-Bought after I purchased the kit.)
or 18" (Be-bop kick from original kit config.)
5.5x14 Matching Snare

Practice: DW in Turquoise-Sea-Green Sunburst
10, 12, 14, 16 All Rack
18x22" Virgin Kick
5.5x14 Matching snare

Extra drums: Ludwig Super-sensitive snare 6x14 Ludalloy

Maple (Was salvaged from a Pearl) Keller Shell drum 6.5x14? Not sure, have
to check. It came with vintage tube hardware and I added a newer pearl
throwoff. Used as my "Orchestral" snare in college. Cable snares, as of now,
but will probably change to wire as I don't need it much for orchestral
anymore.

DW Craviotto 3x14 One-piece Steam-bent Maple Piccolo with Brass Plated
Hardware
(Yes, 3" Deep) They don't make this anymore.
I had some work done on it. Replaced the hoops with die cast brass plated,
and replaced throwoff with a piccolo style throwoff similar to my orchestral
drum. This thing SCREAMS and really doesn't sound like a picc. It's got some
serious body.

Cymbals: Everything Paiste Signature, except for an 18" Wuhan China and
other cymbals mentioned below:
10" Dimensions Splash
8" Splash
13" Dark Crisp Hats
14" Medium Hats
14" Full Crash
15" Fast Crash
16" Full Reflector Crash
16" and 17" Mellow Crashes
18" Full Crash
20" Full Ride
20" Original NOS Sound Formula Medium ride
20" Prototype Ride (Similar to Dark Energy Ride, only darker).

DW Delta Chain Double Pedal, DW Delta Hat Stand

Roc'n'Soc Hydraulic throne.

Mostly pearl cym hardware, with others. All cymbals are mounted off of two
cymbal stands except, of course, my hi-hats. Left stand holds two crashes
and two splashes, Right side holds Ride, China and larger crash. (In my DW
setup this configuration held the same cymbals, PLUS all my toms. Two on
each stand.10, 12 and 14, 16)
This is all done with clamps and accessory booms. It's a great setup, cause,
if I want, i can keep the general setup the same even if I'm using my DW's
live.

I hope this sufficiently bored you to tears!

Dude, Been there done that, paid my dues big time back when. I feel for ya

you, I'm sure.

Hey, we're all gear heads here. This is the kinda stuff I thrive on....
As a poor student with no DI to spend on gear, I'd like you to know that I
hate you all.

Word. When I started, I didn't have a dime for a down payment. I had to
finance a set of Pearl Exports (!) and get a third job to pay for them. So
I hear ya. And maybe that's why I feel justified in owning my 5 kits today.

Me 3. My first kit as a student was a blue sparkle Japanese Slingerland
knock off 5-piece with sheet "cymbals" (and I use the term loosely) that
my Dad wouldn't pay $225 for when I dragged him to see it from an ad in
the paper. The seller got desperate a few weeks later and we got it for
$160. I broke the kick drum head within 15 minutes of getting it home
which didn't please Dad at all. My second kit many years later was a
used 7-piece Rogers MemoriLoc Londoner complete with COB Dynosonic snare
that my keyboardist friend fronted me the $650 for and I paid him back
something like $15 a week because I just started a family and was more
or less broke. Having 3 decent kits now (all purchased used) and a
decent set of metals is truly a blessing. But I'm also getting to be an
old phart. You'll get your turn dude...

Actually, Aaron, I do still want to get rid of them. (I'm keeping the
20" bass drum, though) They rec'd no bids (but tons of emails asking stupid
questions) when I listed them over the summer, so I figured I'd give it
another go for Christmas. The SCPs have just been taking up space in my
garage since the arrival of the Starclassic Maples, last year. They're my
"middle child" at this point... I have the SCMs and the bop kit set up in my
studio, and I use the Superstars on my rock gigs... The SCPs are such nice
drums (and are in WAY better shape than my SCMs) and it's a shame that they
are sitting idle.

On that note, anyone who's interested in Starclassic Performers in
Transparent Black, let me know!

Uh, oh... there goes the toy-pile even higher!

Aaron, you DO know that you can't have 3 kickdrums in one kit? It's 4
or it's not at all... ;-)

Hey! I'm just curious. I have a toy pile the size right now that even I am
finding annoying. BTW do you have a line on a 4th kick for me? :-)

Uh, oh... there goes the toy-pile even higher!
Aaron, you DO know that you can't have 3 kickdrums in one kit? It's 4
or it's not at all... ;-)

Totally out of curiosity, Chris, how much$$ are you looking to get for them?

Actually, Aaron, I do still want to get rid of them. (I'm keeping the
20" bass drum, though) They rec'd no bids (but tons of emails asking
stupid

questions) when I listed them over the summer, so I figured I'd give it
another go for Christmas. The SCPs have just been taking up space in my
garage since the arrival of the Starclassic Maples, last year. They're my
"middle child" at this point... I have the SCMs and the bop kit set up in

Aaron,

I was hoping to get $700 for the shell kit, but now I might try to sell
it with hardware (or a rack) for a bit more.
