Looks like you'd need 4 arms to play all those. Made me wonder who
has the biggest drum kit in this news group? Please confirm with
photos. Winner gets an attaboy or girl.

"Retail value is $42,000" ?!

"A steal at $18,450. This price is not negotiable" ?!

Lemmee see, a set of used drums, or a new car? Hmmm...

Pass.

Twenty grand drumset, lightly used, and in "primo" condition? Yeah
that makes sense.
I'm guessing he means I gigged with it once. He found out he had to
leave for the gig at 1:00pm in the afternoon to have it setup in time
for the night gig. Hey, *I* own Gibralter stands. Do you have ANY idea
how heavy, 14 of them suckers would be? Mine have been sitting in a
bag ever since I got my light weight Yamaha single braced wonders. And
I'm only at 5 or 6 cymbals! Obviously the guy came to his senses, but
doesn't dare say anything because he's looking for another sucker who
will fall for the "big kit" thing like he did without thinking it
through...

Hey, I do have a pretty large kit if I want it. 24" bass, snare,
bongos (used for tiny toms) , 10" 12" 13" 16" 18", 3 Rides, 2, crash,
1 splash, two hats (2 stands), Bongo bell on pedal, double pedal,
various blocks, cowbells etc. Mics on all. Mixer. plus DrumFrame. Yeah
it's a lot of stuff, but still big enough to kick plenty of ass. But
mostly I like the "reduced kit" that uses the 18" tom for a bass.

And in the picture most were at full extension. I have to wonder if they
would topple at a touch. Talk about crash cymbals!

Yes, the ad is laughable but is nobody here interested in comparing their
big kits? Let's see the pics!

Sorry, no size envy here. I gig a basic 4 piece, and rarely add an extra
floor tom. That cymbal setup looks positively ridiculous. How many DW sets
end up for sale described as "hardly used"?

Oh no! Is the pendulum swinging back towards gargantuan sets again? Have I
become the geezer playing the dinky kit?

What real working drummer is going to want to cart something like that
all over tarnation anyway? Not to mention spending the 4 hours it would
take to set it up.

Last night would now make the 4th gig in a row where someone asked me
"where's the rest of your drums?". Some were serious some were
joking. I think. And I don't even play a teeny tiny hipgig type kit
either - it's a regular ol' 4-pc - 22 kick, 12 + 14 toms, snare, hats/
ride/two crashes. I have the other toms - a 10, 13, 16 - but I choose
*not* to bring them.

If Sam's a geezer - then so am I! :-)

Pete,

#1.I have heard a couple of those ddrum kits recently. Both sounded
great ,esp. the 20x20.
A shop in town has a set your color...Really Sharp.

#2 Do you have a gig schedule on the web some where.? I am at
liberty to drive over to greater Cincy in the near future.

Yeah it's a little bad. She needs a tripod in the worst way. Hers is a
picture camera, not a dedicated video unit. That said it's not too bad,
picture quality and audio wise.
