Discussion:
Fine, if it'll draw people out, I'll start a religious discussion. (Sonor vs Taye)

Opinions? Anyone?

I sold my Sonor Sonic Plus kit that I bought from Jeffrey (anyone
heard from him?) eons ago, and still dream about that kit.

I'm going to be picking up a shell pack in the next week or so, and am
trying to get the best bang for my admittedly low-end buck. I've found
a local Force 3003 for $400 that I'm seriously considering driving 2
hours for, and I'm also seeing some Taye kits that:

a) Are in my price range, and
b) Seem to get pretty good reviews.

Eh? Eh?

Sometimes I think it works against Pearl that they have *the* most
popular low-end kit that ends up in every bar and cheap rehearsal
space. I have a really bad opinion of them, but now that I think about
it, I don't think I've ever played anything better than an Export. I
should give them a shot.

I found a used Taye kit in my price range, and strangely it was being
sold by some dude named "George Lawrence." He said he'll stop in and
say "Hi."

I like my Pearl EXL, the one I wanted was a Yamaha 6-piece shell pack
but not for $3200! Had great tone but so does the $3200 in my savings
account

The sonors I had SEEMED to have a somewhat limited tuning range but
sounded fantastic. Almost too good if that even makes sense. I am
gigging a crap ddrum kit and getting rave reviews from sound dudes high
and low.
