Anybody play this? Anybody do the reverse cymbal(?) sounds? I want to play
around with this tune, and I want the reverse thing too. I've got a
trigger/sampler with reverse on it, I just don't know for sure if I'm going
to be able to get what I want.

Reverse cymbal sound? If you are referring to what I think you
are..isn't that sound made by vibrating the cymbal via a mallet and then
using the hand to choke it?

Mark,
It very well may be just as you described, however, it sounds reversed to
me. If it is your way then I am going to be hard pressed to duplicate it
while playing time. Maybe I'll just 'spearment a little. Maybe I'll just
forget about it too. Thanks.

Exactly. That's the way I simulate rev. tape cymbal stuff. In this
instance you'd follow it up with the eighth note on the closed hats (at
least from my memory that's what happens).

Saw this live at Pine Knob in the Detroit area. The drummer used his
left hand with a stick followed by a choke. Kept the groove going with
the right hand. Very cool. BTW, I think it was the drummer from Damn
Yankees (awesome drummer too).
