Discussion:
Why does my craigslist ad keep getting flagged/deleted?

I posted an ad on craigslist in the musical instruments for sale /
wanted and it keeps getting flagged/deleted:

"Need drum set for friend's kids I will be giving lessons to. Need an
entire kit -- drums, hardware, and cymbals (hihats AND crash/ride).
Need standard size drums (not "kids" drums, i.e. First Act)."

What's wrong with this ad?

First Act has standard sized kits too. Maybe someone that sells them?

Get rid of the "NEED" Sound like you want a free kit.
Try somthing like "Looking for reasonably priced kit"

It makes no sense/sounds kinda like cyber begging; somebody should
sell you a kit cheaper because you're a teacher.

You don't need a kit to give lessons. You don't even need a single
drum. All a beginning student needs are sticks.

As the Drum Nazi used to say, "You can't play 5 drums, until you can
play 1 drum..."

Looks a lot like this ad:

WANTED: Drum Set - $200 (Aloha)
Date: 2010-03-31, 4:46PM PDT

Want to buy reasonably priced set for friend's kids I will be giving
lessons to. Need an entire kit -- drums, hardware, and cymbals (hihats
AND crash/ride). Need standard size drums (not "kids" drums, i.e.
First Act). $100-200 is about all the parents can afford right now.
http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/msg/1670873799.html

Specify they need a throne too and see if that helps.

That's my ad. I changed it to "want to buy reasonably priced" and
put the price range, and it is no longer getting flagged.

The kids parents want a drum set, I'm not the one buying it. For my
practice kit I recently bought a ddrum diablo in great shape (with
hideous camo fabric wrap) with hardware, throne, and a ton of extra
clamps and stuff for $99 at Goodwill. I've seen stencil kits with
cymbals on craigslist for less than $200, so it's not far fetched.

So I see...
The kids parents want a drum set, I'm not the one buying it.
Uh huh...

I guess they can't afford internet access... or are so disinterested
they can't be bothered.

Why not sell them that kit, double your money and acquire another?

Sure.

The next one you see with a phone number, post a link here.

Not everyone who has one for sale has posted it on craigslist. I look
at what is already posted while others contact me with what they have
to sell.
