Check out the bass hoops. They seem to be the correct color, but the rest of
the shells, compared to the hoops, seem to be faded. Think they used
different hoops, or the hoops were off and not exposed to the light????

Good gawd, what an ugly set of drums! :-)

The drums are either wrapped (likely) or painted wood (doubt it); the rims are
either painted wood (could be) or some kind of plastic with the color
impregnated into it, in which case the plastic is likely a very different
composition than anything used in a wrap. Either way, they've apparently tried
to get a color match using two very different types of materials, and that's a
good recipe for failure.

If I remember them correctly, they are wood, same as the shells. That's not
a wrap either. I believe it to be paint. It's just a huge difference in
shades. I wonder if the someone didn't use contrasting color hoops at some
point, and then put on the originals to sell. Current owner states he's not
a drummer, and claims he doesn't know what I'm talking about. Then states
that Tama must have done that on purpose. Then states if it is a problem,
don't bid. That, I can do.

Granstar customs where painted, and the Granstars where wrapped.
