Did I hear Billy Gibbon's say "Vinnie" after he performed Foxy Lady
with Beck's band? I think he did...if so that is so cool for him to
acknowledge him.

I presume (after staring at it for a while) that "R&RHOF" stands for "Rock and Roll Hall Of
Fame"...

I do know that "HBO" refers to one of those channels that many of us probably don't get...
Do you have any web links to the performance?

I also presume you're referring to "Jeff Beck" and not that other "Beck" guy.

When you say "Vinnie" I guess you're referring to Vinnie Colaiuta... Admittedly, as
drummers most of us know who "Vinnie" is...

... perhaps I'm living in the dark by not knowing that Vinnie was playing with Jeff Beck's band?

By the way, there is no apostrophe in the middle of Billy Gibbons' name.

Have you had your morning coffee yet? :-)

In any event, there's no doubt that Billy Gibbons is a supremely cool dude, and it doesn't
surprise me that he knows exactly who Vinnie Colauita is, even though their musical paths
might never have crossed paths before (just a guess on my part). I remember thinking it
both very odd and very cool when I read in the early eighties that Billy Gibbons and Robert
Fripp were both great admirers of each others work and that they enjoyed hanging together...

Speaking of HBO....
They have a new show based in New Orleans, called, "Treme," which is
centered mostly around the musicians in the area.

Except for some key rolls, instead of using actors to play musicians,
they're actually using local musicians and letting them act, including
Stanton Moore.

They is some really great music performed in this series.

LOL! Ah, don't take it too hard; maybe *I* was the one who needed some more morning coffee!
:-) I'm sure your post made sense to _you_, but I had to go through it backwards and
forwards about three times before I put all the pieces together... I *would* kinda like to
see a video of the incident you're talking about though; maybe it's on YouTube somewhere.

Incidentally, I wonder how come that little Tal Wilkenfeld gal isn't playing bass in Jeff
Beck's band any more? She was pretty incredible.

Yes, Steve, it's you. I knew exactly what Jim was talking about, and
Vinnie has been playing with JEFF Beck for a good while now, along with
(and I have to look up how to spell her name and get it right) Tal
Wilkenfeld, the hot Aussie HS (that's High school for those of you
keeping score) drop out who has played with more of the world's jazz
greats than were in Return to Forever...
