Enjoy!

http://www.dunnett.com/r4.html

I'm pleased to provide everyone at drumsmith.com with a preview of the
new Dunnett R4.0 (micRo) throw off. The R4 has many improvements over
the current R Class throw off. Owing to the new design the R4.0 has
fewer parts, is lighter and will now fit on 4" deep snare drums. Other
features include a user adjustable friction control for the snare
tension control and the swivel lever. The mounting track has been
modified to allow it to be fitted to shells of various thickness
without need for special fasteners - handy for manufacturers who make
shells of different or thicker dimensions. Because of the reduced size
and the use of lighter casting materials the weight of the R.40 is
substantially lighter than the current R Class.

Further details and the official release date is pending, but I expect
the new model will be making an appearance at the 2010 NAMM show.

Looks like a great piece of hardware. Keep up the inovation. American
manufacturing NEEDS inovation very badly.

You do realize Dunnett is a Canadian company?

Hmmm...I thought Dunnett was located in Chicago. I knew George Way was
Canadian. Guess I better check it out.

OK...just Googled it and yeah, located in British Columbia. Not sure
why I thought Dunnett was located in Chicago.

Regardless, manufacturing on this side of the Pacific Ocean needs
inovators very badly.

George Way was an American - but he started his company in Edmonton
and married a nice Canadian girl from that city.

I'm actually aboriginal so that really messes things up for those who
like to draw lines in dirt - our dirt that is!

I have said this many times - my company supports many U.S. companies.
I buy most of my raw materials from the U.S.A. I use Remo drum heads.
My products are sold (and do well) for many independent shops in
America - those shops pay U.S. wages with dollars earned by selling
Dunnett products. Anyone who feels that it is "un-patriotic" to
purchase a Dunnett drum has their head up their ass - WAY up there.

For my company it has never been about the bottom line / profits.
Sure, everyone needs to make a living - I'm just so fortunate to be
able to make mine doing what I love - making stuff that drummers want,
need and appreciate.

Yeah, but Greg Nickel is American. :-)

Glenn, you're in Fort Collins, right?
You guys have a lot of micro brewer out there, don't you?
I like New Belgium.

Yes, yes, and me too. O'Dells, Fort Collins Brewery and my friend Dave also
make a lot of good beer. Dave has the best prices.

Well, I'll have to try Dave's whenever I'm out there. :-)

I tried a Fort Collins Chocolate Stout the other night and it was
decent, but not as good as NB's 1554. From what I read on the FCB site,
I think I may like their Kidd Black lager.

Yeah, Longmont is about 30 minutes away. Funny, my favoriate Colorado
brewer, Flying Dog, moved to the east coast recently. I can still get Horn
Dog barleywine here, though. Their labels are designed by Ralph Steadman of
Fear and Loathing fame.
