Anyone ever have pain at the top of their forearm where the muscle connects
to the elbow? It's on my hi-hat hand and I wonder what can be done to fix
it. The pain started when I was experimenting with different grips to
improve my speed. So I'm back to my original grip.

Will start icing it today.

Thanks in advance.

Probably everyone.

Use the other hand, it's good practice.

Sounds like problem solved.

Ice and rest sound likely to offer relief.

I play on a right handed kit and actually do use my other (right) hand
occasionally since I'm left handled. It's a great way to give my right arm
some rest on fast songs.

Likely tendonitis. Depending on your age, you may need to ease into a
grip change rather than force it. As gps says, ice it, rest it, stretch
before you play etc.

I did force myself into the grip change and focused on playing as fast as
possible. Thus the problem. Since the pain I have gone back to my original
method of playing and have felt better. As far as increasing my speed,
hopefully it will naturally happen over time.

Thanks for the input!
