Can anyone help me with a (possibly stupid) question?

on p. 71 of John Riley's book, "The Art of Bop", in the last paragraph on
that page he makes reference to RC1, RC2 and RC3. I can find no reference
to these things anywhere else in the book. I'm guessing they are ride
cymbal patterns, but I'm not sure. What am I missing?

any help appreciated.

If I remember correctly, that is in the section where he talks about
listening to recordings, and the RC1, 2, and 3 denote how difficult the
playing is on the recordings he talks about. 1 being the easiest, and 5
being the hardest.

Hi there, this might be a little too late of a reply but I emailed John RIley personally and he said that the RC 1, 2, 3 just relates to the tempo of the tracks, slow to fast. Hopefully, this reply posting will help anybody else out there.
