I see that the drummer (Dave King) is from Minniapolis and played on
some Bill Carrothers stuff. So, Jay Epstein probably knows him.
Wonder what he's using to get the woody cross-stick sound?

Some folks balked at the Bad Plus (and probably still do) when they
came seemingly out of nowhere, but they have credibility. Dave King
and Ethan Iverson have been playing with Tim Berne and Hank Roberts
lately. I think King has also played with Craig Taborn, who's a great
contemporary pianist. They've all played with some pretty heavy
musicians. King has a pretty interesting sound.
