Hey all, don't remember if anyone remembers me now... I used to hang
around here turn of the last decade... =)

I just wanted to say, I haven't played in a couple years, I've
shuffled around a bit since I was a contributor here and once I left
the last house I had where I had a garage to play, I just haven't been
able to play anywhere... I miss it, miss playing my old Ludwigs and
Gretsches...

I had visited my grandma this past weekend and when we pulled up to
her house I noticed an old bass drum in her neighbor's trash. When I
asked my grandma about it, she said no one was even living there and
not only could I have it but I could have 'everything else'.
Everything else just turned out to be a worthless Zilco cymbal (which
I didn't take), and a Radio King floor tom. The bass drum was a
flaking silver/blue WFL Duco number. The shell was worthless but the
parts are cleanable and somewhat useable. The Radio King has no badge
and is missing the bottom lugs, but has both hoops and one set of
clips. It also has some of the 70's Ludwig (lower line) floor tom leg
mounts and presumably legs (were those called Ludwig 'standards'? I
can't remember). It'd basically been someone's old stuff that's
probably been left outside for a while. Basically barnyard shape, the
shells are probably too far gone but the nickel is hiding under the
grime and rust. But it just reminded me of when I used to play and
collect a little bit of the 50's and 60's stuff. I do still have all
my drums... they had been in storage for years and now they are still
in storage but under the roof I'm living in, thankfully my roommate is
rad enough to let me store them here.

So, just wanted to say what's up... now I gotta remember to come back
here and see if anyone responded, lol...

Hey Ant, good to hear from you again. Hope you can get back playing again,
it's too much fun to put down for too long.

Hey Ant,

I just opened the group for the first time in ages and your post
brought back memories. Wasn't it you that also engineered a tennis
ball beater?

Good to hear from you.

Haha, nice. I remember the names. And some of the jokes. And it looked
like the all-time rivalry is being perpetuated, still. Some things
never change. =)

And YES, the tennis ball beater! So heavy, so much resistance.
