As some of you old-timers may recall, I used to frequent this NG
pretty much every day about 12 years ago (which doesn't qualify me as
an old-timer myself), but I haven't been back for years. It appears
the NG thing has run its course but it was fun back then and I met
some really cool cats in here. And some dbags. ;-) Anyway, I was
listening to some Soulbelly tonight and got a little reminiscent. Hey
nick, are you out there buddy? Shoot me an e-mail.

All you drummers out there who remember who I am, cheers! I hope all
your grooves are tight and your pants are loose.

Hey Aaron! Yeah, the group is pretty quiet these days, and it's a shame. I
guess it _could_ be correlated to the fact that most ISPs have turned off their
"free" news service. Still, there are plenty of free alternatives, and I think
many of the old groups regulars are aware of them and still pop in now and
then, but it just seems like nobody has anything to say. It's strange, because
there are other newsgroups I follow that seem to be going just as strong as
ever; I don't know why this one would be so different. The economy maybe? The
musical climate? Fewer and fewer sources for reasonably priced Moongel?

That pretty much describes where I'm at. I spend a lot more time gigging and
almost no time hanging out with other drummers, online or in person. Still,
it's better than being a gigless choad :-)

Ha! Another old regular here! Hey guys!

Really strange alignment of the stars tonite... I haven't poked in
here in ages, but decided to just see if anyone was left.

And for some other reason I decided to wear my Bailey's Comet "Endless
Beer Tent Tour" tee shirt today. I haven't worn it in about a year,
it was stuffed in the spare room dresser, not even sure how I stumbled
across it. lol Good to see you're still alive Aaron! Hey Steve!

To make the post drum related, I just got back from a long weekend in
New Orleans and saw this killer Zydeco band (Zydeco Hellraisers if
anyone wants to look them up - totally *smokin* high energy!). Makes
me want to try playing washboard. And for the very first time I saw
someone else playing a Zen Drum live at another bar. I've long sold
mine, but I took a picture anyway, was cool to see.

Drum on, my friends...

Hey Aaron! Yeah, things slow around here. A lot of groups have slowed
to a trickle due to the big ISP shutdown. I use google groups and
check in periodically just for grins, but mostly I'm hanging in the
Talk Bass forum. Drumming tends to be too physical for me these days.
It's good to see some of the old group check back in.

I've been able to check in on occasion, but with 2 bands, 2 kids and a
full-time job, free time is pretty rare.

Forums are far more popular than newsgroups these days, since they're
a much friendlier, easier-to-manage format. Maybe we should start up
some rmmp forums?

I just haven't found a forum that I like. Of course, I don't search
very hard. If anyone has a forum that they like, I'm sure is rmmp-ers
would like the tip.

Good to hear from you again. I think a lot of people check in here
from time to time
to see if it's still breathing. I still look at RMMP just about
everyday. I only seem to post a couple of times a month.

Cheers to you, and please come back often.

Hey Aaron, long time, no see!

Looks like a reunion! What's up, my RMMP brethren? Good to see a few of you
still hanging on for dear life. While, I never actively intended to leave
RMMP, I bought a new laptop almost 2 years ago and never set up newsgroups
on it. Ever since, I rarely spend much "internet time" down here on my
studio computer, but I do pop on here and take a look from time to time.

Things are good, here. I'm still teaching and gigging plenty. For the past
few years, I've been teaching a bunch of beginner guitar and bass students
(while also studying, myself). Playing and refereeing a lot of ice hockey.
Oh yeah, I just got married in October. I guess that's a new development,
eh? ;-)

I'll try to get in here a bit more. Hope to see some of you ol' skool
RMMPers around.

Aaron, likewise I haven't posted here in quite awhile. I saw Nick at
the Smoke House in Burbank while I was in SoCal for NAMM. He is doing
well, though was under the weather that night. I sat in for part of a
set to give him a break... :-)

Jeez. Proper trip down memory lane! I'm still around, but over on the
other side of the pond now. Living in London, just did my first
European tour last year. Woohoo! :-)
